Last weekend was Easter.
As I’m sure you figured out.
As most holidays and birthdays and, really, everything else does, it snuck up on me. So on Saturday morning I didn’t remember early enough to run down to town for the Easter Egg Hunt. We went to Fred Meyer to do their activities. They had cake or cupcake decorating, cakewalks, and bunny ears for decorating.
It was all afternoon so it was okay for us to be running behind schedule (as usual). We also colored eggs on Sunday and did a little egg hunt of our own. The Easter Bunny was pretty generous and we had ham, baked potatoes, and green beans for dinner. Followed by Cake for desert. Over all, it was a nice holiday. Except for the eggs. Decoratively, they turned out great.
Unfortunately, I didn’t cook them long enough. So, they were not edible and a quick internet search revealed that they never would be. I tried to cook one in the microwave.
NEVER DO THAT!
It doesn’t work.
I was disappointed because I was really looking forward to making devilled eggs. Yumm. I was also a little ticked that I had wasted 2 dozen eggs. But, oh well. I’ve picked up more and will boil them and make some devilled eggs and all will be right in the world again.
The bunny brought us some Peeps. Here is a quote from my son about them:
“…and don’t eat my Peeps because those things are so adorably yummy!”
another that day was
“Hip Hip Hooregg! Hip Hip Hooregg!”
Here are a couple of funny things I’ve seen this week. They were both licence plates. The first was:
HAFAST
which I thought was pretty good. The second was:
KID STY
Which I thought was great. And I’m guessing accurate since it was on a minivan. So, that’s a quick week in review. I just want to finish up with a gratitude entry. I’m going to try to remember to do this every time now.
Today I am grateful for cheese, mechanical pencils, awareness, cake, and sunshine.

Caseman could write greeting cards! That “Hip Hip Hooregg!” is really, really good!

I thought so. He was sort of tossing those little chocolate eggs from a big bowl of them that the easter bunny left.
