Six Word Friday: Gifted

This day I am gifted with:

healthy and happy loved ones here

35 years of memories with her

infinite possibility; today, tomorrow, ever after

this wicked, monster term has ended.

these words-this craft I love

creativity in thought, word and deed.

freedom of expression, freedom of speech

freedom from oppression, freedom to be

another day to try to improve

another day to love, laugh, cry

another day to cherish each other

another day to create. Another day.

The gift of another day — precious.

I found out last night that a friend I was hanging out with just a couple weeks ago has stage 4 brain cancer. It’s all too much to take; am still processing the fragility of life. Will see him this weekend; me with my faux-happy face because I have to be strong for him, and let him know that there can still be good days in his future, in his now.

Beautiful. And I love the quote from kung-fu panda: the perfect addendum!
