Six Word Fridays: Seconds

these seconds they tick tock away

precious little seconds make up days

we often take them for granted

forget the blessings we are handed

we watch the hour hand crawl

paying seconds no attention at all

losing precious seconds to sloth, strife

these seconds added up equal life

one second take, a moment make

don’t wander off-pay close attention

if you stray, come back! For seconds.

Time doesn’t wait! We need to be aware of that- well done!

Ah sloth is a big one for me at times. Isn’t it amazing how we often pray for time to rush by instead of cherishing each second we are given? Thanks for the reminder.

I do try to make time to be still, and also be productive. Every second is precious, and oh how fast they fly by. xox

Sloth. I yearn to embrace that side of myself again. I miss quiet moments.

Enjoying each second of life – we need to take a deliberate pause to remind ourselves to do just that.

I try to appreciate the seconds, but it’s so hard to block out all the gunk that settles on them. Surely the effort is noble enough.

This is beautiful, Brook. I especially love the closing lines.

Sorry to chime in late. Your link was broken on Melissa’s site and then the weekend started.
