I am no fan of surprises.
Not the big ones at least.
It seems to me that they
often go awry in some way.
Assuming it was a good surprise
to start out with any way.
Someone gives it away or the
person (usually me) does something contrary
to the plan in the works.
But, I am a big fan
of small, unexpected pleasures and treasures.
The coffee is already made today?
A drawing from a little child?
A hug.
A kiss.
Holding hands.
A spontaneous postcard in the mail.
These little things, tiny and unexpected
add a dash of glitter to
a life crafted in ordinary everyday.

Wow, I LOVE this! I, too, think that simple, unexpected kindnesses are the very best sources of encouragement!

These are great examples of the “glitter” of life. We couldn’t live without those spontaneous acts of kindness and surprise!

I think this is one of my favorites of yours – I am not a big fan of surprises either, but I never thought of everything else as unexpected treasures. That made me smile. My top 3 treasures?
1.When the kids make their beds without being asked
2. Someone else cleans up the dinner dishes
3. The last piece of cake is left for me
