I dig The Bee Gees. I like a lot of their music and think that they seemed nice in all the interviews I’ve seen them in.
Recently I was listening to one of their songs and all of a sudden I heard the lyrics and really listened to what they were saying.
“You don’t know what it’s like
To love somebody
The way that I love you”
Uh, no. I guess I couldn’t possibly. I mean there’s no way it’s at all equitable.
Or maybe I don’t know at all. And you’re some creepy stalker type. Burning in some unrequited love fantasy about me.
Ergh. This keeps playing in my head now. Maybe it will ease off now that I’ve released it into the wild.

I get where you are coming from. Some songs are better if you don’t really get into the meanings of the lyrics. Like that song from Alex Clare about breaking up with a woman/man because he was “too close to love you.” I liked it until I really listened to the lyrics. Then I was like, “No, Alex Clare, I am breaking up with your sorry ass because you are too goddamn neurotic.”

I was always kinda turned off by “every breathe you take, every move you make, I’ll be watching you.” Uh, stalker much? Although I’ve seen it set against a dog watching the dinner table so it goes back to being funny.
Yeah. Some lyrics are better when you don’t listen too closely.
